I’ve had the following dreams over the past couple of years and they were very vivid. If you have any ideas as to their meanings I would appreciate it.
I dreamt that many tornados were assaulting a city at the same time. Dust and debris was flying everywhere and people were scrambling to find cover. I had to grab onto a post and hold on with all my might as a huge roaring vortex tried to pull me into the sky. As the vortex moved on I ran and jumped into a hardened bunker like structure where I was greeted by a Catholic priest dressed in green mass robes. I looked through the doorway I just leaped through and saw people being sucked up into the air as a terrible black vortex moved over them. The priest turned to me and yelled over the terrible noise, “They are lost! You must go on!” He pointed behind us. I turned to see a dimly lit tunnel that curved away in such a manner I could not see how long it was or where it went. I then genuflected before the priest who performed the sign of the cross over me and gave me his blessing. He then once again pointed insistently towards the tunnel. As I turned to run, I realized he planned to stay behind in case others made it through the door and that he’d likely not survive. I woke after entering the tunnel.
Another dream focused on an underground building with dimly lit halls that looked like they were carved out of rock. I entered a central area with many doors and above the doors were symbols for various religions, such as the Jewish Star of David, The Pagan Pentacle, a Catholic Crucifix, a Muslim moon and star, there were others that I didn’t recognize. There were people talking cheerfully to each other. I saw a Rabbi hug a Catholic Priest. I saw a man, who was dressed in Arab clothing speaking with a Hindi woman who appeared to be laughing at a joke. As I entered the room they all took notice and either waved or nodded their heads and smiled. I was wearing a long coat, like a dover jacket, and although it felt heavy it also felt very comfortable and I felt very proud to be wearing it, like it was some kind of uniform. I went through the door that had the Catholic Crucifix and traveled up a set of stairs to the interior of a round terraced, half circle church that reminded me of a small version of a roman coliseum. At the bottom was a traditional Catholic altar, with a large crucifix hanging on the wall behind it. A priest, flanked by two altar boys was sitting beneath the crucifix; on the Altar were two golden chalices. The priest saw me and nodded. A nun was standing at a podium to the side leading a small congregation of about twenty people through the rosary. Standing at the top of the curved balcony looking down at those seated below was a man I did not recognized, but dressed like me in the long coat. He grinned as if he knew me and raised his hand in a form of salute. I walked down the steps where an older balding gentleman dressed in a torn suit jacket sat next to a young girl with curly black hair dressed in a pretty red dress and clutching her rosary. They both gasped as I approached. The older gentleman insisted I sit next to them and he said to his daughter, “Remember this day, it is a great day!” Before I could sit the entire congregation were required to stand so I remained standing. As I directed my attention to the altar I noticed that a sword had replaced the two chalices and that is when I woke.
One of my more personally frightening dreams I found myself on a desert mesa at sundown. The sky was an intense burning red. The edge of the mesa looked down at a vast canyon and a river far below. There was a stone pillar with a basin of water sitting upon it and standing next to this was myself. My doppelganger was dressed in the dover long jacket, the same outfit I was wearing in the previous dream as well as a black wide brim hat. I did not feel frightened and it did not seem strange that I was seeing myself, so I approached my doppelganger who smiled and nodded at me in greeting. “So did you want to see how you are going to die?” My doppelganger asked. “Sure.” I said casually with amusement. He pointed at the basin of water. “Take a look.” He said cheerfully. So I walked up to the basin and looked down. The water looked dark and I saw nothing at first then there was bright flash of light, followed by a terrible fireball. I awoke immediately.
